Riot Games and League of Legends always have a major Season launch video to start the year. This year, there was some major news. From the shows to the Rift, Riot Games clearly has some major plans and likely more that has not been revealed just yet. One of the biggest reveals was that a character from Arcane would be making their way to the Rift. No, it is not Silco. Instead, the Arcane character transitioning from the silver screen to the Rift as a LoL Champion is Ambessa Medarda.

Arcane Ambessa Medarda LoL Champion
The addition of Arcane Ambessa Medarda as a LoL Champion was certainly a surprising one. Considering how many people liked Silco and him even having a model and some abilities thanks to TFT, it felt all but certain that he would be added. Instead, the mother of Mel and one of the leaders of Noxus will be finding her way into League of Legends.
This is a massive change and something that many had hoped for but did not expect. While a lot of the main characters of Arcane are obviously champions, there have been other new characters from the show that could become champions.
It is hard to not think that Ambessa will be a major player in Season 2. If she is getting added to the main game and with Silco being gone, it feels like she may be the new villain in the next season. This is all speculation but it seems likely with this announcement.
LoL Ambessa Medarda Release Date
Many are going to be wondering, what is the LoL Ambessa Medarda Release Date?
This is pretty simple, she will be arriving with Season 2 of Arcane in November. This will likely coincide with Worlds Finals as it has in the past. Sometime around November 2, 2024 or November 9, 2024 feels like the best guess. This means that she will be on the PBE though a couple of weeks before then. It also confirms that she will be the last champion of 2024.
LoL Ambessa Medarda Abilities
One of the most interesting questions now becomes, what are the LoL Ambessa Medarda Abilities?
As of now, there is almost nothing known about her. We do not see her doing a whole lot in the first season of Arcane and we will not see her again in Season 2 until she is already on the Rift. That means there will be no preview of her abilities.
Regardless, this is a major new champion and one that may even bring over some Arcane fans to League of Legends.
