Trai Turner Out for Season with Quadriceps Injury

Date:

Just three days after signing with a new team, offensive guard Trai Turner is already out for the entire 2022-2023 season. Apparently, Turner suffered a quadriceps injury that will hold him out for the entirety of his new contract.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Friday.

New Orleans is Turner’s fifth team in the past five years. His previous team, the Washington Commanders, let his contract expire at the end of the 2022 season, making him a free agent. The 92nd overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft’s future is now up in the air, depending on the language of his Saints contract.

Turner played in 12 games last season with Washington, starting five of them. He took a total of 69 percent of the snaps for which he was available. He also took 12 percent of the special teams snaps. Turner has managed to play in every game of the season just three times in his nine years in the league.
