Our teams are ready to hit the Summoners Rift, fighting for a top-two seed to compete in the PCS playoffs–their chance at Worlds in South Korea. With a brand new best-of-two format, which teams will succeed?
- Vertex secure first win since debut against Kanga in tied series
- Chiefs remain undefeated in Split 2, beating Mammoth
- Games resume Tuesday, June 20 @ 6pm
Day two’s opener was played out by Kanga and The Chiefs in a fairly one-sided series in favour of the Brisbane team with a standout performance from midlaner Kisee on Jayce carrying them into game two. Unfortunately for Kanga, the game played out in a similar fashion, as the Chiefs seized the base at just over twenty three minutes during both matches.
The next series–Pentanet versus Ground Zero–played out a bit more differently to everyone’s expectations. Ground Zero asserted their dominance against the Brisbane team during game one with their perfect positioning as they often caught out PGG. This allowed them to set the pace for game-changing fights, particularly thanks to Gooby’s Maokai ults.
PGG were forced to play from behind and although they saw glimmers of hope from Chippys’ Gwen, they were ultimately overrun.
Fuelled with a vengeance for game two, Pentanet showed their expected dominant form, establishing themselves very early in the match thanks to their Viego in Shernfire.
Those early leads led to a swift snowball, and after some perfectly executed initiations, they secured the series tie.
The two teams at the bottom of the ladder meet tonight in Vertex and Kanga. This will be followed by the renewed Mammoth and undefeated Chiefs to wrap up the evening.

LCO Split 2 2023 Schedule & Results
There have been some major changes to the format of the LCO ahead of Split 2 this June. The round-robin stage will be played in best-of-twos as opposed to the former two separate best-of-one matches.
Points will be allocated depending on the results, with three awarded for a victorious flawless series, and one point to each team for a 1-1 outcome. Side selections will be submitted from both teams prior to the beginning of a series.
By the end of the round-robin, the top six teams will move into the next stage.
Rather than seeding into groups, the LCO has opted in favour of a double elimination playoffs bracket to give all teams a fighting chance.
The top two teams in our LCO playoffs will seed respectively for PCS playoffs, where they’ll be competing for a shot at Worlds in South Korea in October.
