The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Keon Coleman 2024 NFL Draft Profile.

Keon Coleman Background

Coleman played at two different schools and was impressive at both universities. Now he is in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As a four-star recruit in the class of 2021, Coleman signed with Michigan State out of high school. He didn’t do much as a freshman, but in his second season with the Spartans, he started to produce. Coleman caught 58 passes for 798 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2022 season. Michigan State struggled and Coleman transferred to Florida State for 2023. He helped Florida State go undefeated during the regular season. Coleman finished the year with 50 catches for 658 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Following the season, Coleman opted out of the Orange Bowl and declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is a projected first-round pick.

Keon Coleman Strengths

The first thing people will notice about Coleman is his size. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, which is excellent for an outside receiver in the NFL. Coleman uses his size well. He has a huge catch radius and is a complete mismatch against smaller defensive backs.

Coleman has great athleticism and body control especially for his size. He has solid quickness and can change directions well. Coleman has a nice top-end speed as well, which won’t be near the best in the class, but adjusted for his size is impressive. He has shown good leaping ability and high-points the ball. To go with all of this he also has incredible body control, which he displays by making absolute circus catches.

He is great once the ball is in his hands. Coleman shows off his good elusivity by making defenders miss. His good quickness and speed help him pick up maximum yards after the catch. He shows good field vision and runs to open space. Florida State recognized how good he was with the ball in his hands and used him as a returner.

Keon Coleman Weaknesses

Coleman needs to pay more attention to his route-running. He can round off routes instead of running them crisply. Coleman has the athletic ability to get in and out of his breaks quickly but doesn’t always do it. He can start by utilizing his leverage better.

He has good hands and can make some crazy catches, but there are times when he drops passes. Specifically, he has some focus drops and can struggle to pull some in if they are off his frame. With a little more focus, he should be able to correct this issue.

To help him become even more of a problem for smaller receivers, Coleman can continue filling out his frame. He is listed at only 215 pounds, which is a little light for a 6-foot-4 receiver. His added strength can help him deal with physical coverage better than he already does.
