How To Farm Airdrops Using Mobile Phone For Free | BitPinas

Date:

BitPinas has already published tons of guides on how to earn free crypto through airdrops.

However, it should be noted that it is easy to earn free crypto by doing tasks, participating in testnets, running nodes, and other requirements using a computer.

But what if you are just starting in the industry and lack resources, especially a computer? Can you collect airdrop rewards using mobile phones?

BitPinas has curated a list of techniques on how to join airdrop programs using just a mobile phone.

1. Through Test Networks

A test network, or what we call a testnet, is the most common activity for newly launched protocols, blockchains, or networks.

In a testnet, a test network is launched first before the main network, or what is called a mainnet. A test network is just a duplicate of the main network—all with the same features, products, and functionality.

Basically, a testnet acts as a simulation for the developers to identify any problems or features that need upgrades and even check the accuracy of the security of the mainnet.

But in a testnet, the developers are not just the ones who are doing the simulation; there are also testers, or simply interested users of the protocol. And in return, the protocol gives away tokens, NFTs, and other collectibles as rewards.

Most projects have their own separate testnet platforms. So to join a testnet program:

  • Step 1: Prepare a wallet compatible with the protocols.
  • Step 2: Search where to obtain testnet tokens
  • Step 3:  Do transactions on the test networks using the testnet tokens, including trading, staking, lending, and more
  • Step 4: Submit a report to the developers, if needed.

These steps can be done just by using a mobile phone because most test networks are available on phone browsers.

The MetaMask app also has an in-app browser where users can access dApps in the ecosystem.

Currently, active testnets include Taiko and SatoshiVM.

2. Through Running Nodes

We all know that a blockchain is a decentralized thing, which means that there is no central authority that owns it. Instead, blockchains rely on an interconnected network of computers or servers, which are called nodes.

Basically, to run a node means to run a software. In the Ethereum blockchain, a node or software is the one that downloads a copy of the blockchain, verifies the validity of every block, keeps it up-to-date with new blocks and transactions, and helps others download and update their own copies.

Thus, running a node is an important activity because nodes are responsible for storing, preserving, and spreading data while ensuring the blockchain’s security, privacy, and decentralization.

But how could a mobile phone user run a node when it is an activity that requires to run a software? Well, the “interconnected network of computers” that was mentioned earlier does not necessarily mean to be computers—-any device that can connect to the interface and can effectively communicate with other devices can be a node, like mobile phones.

The founder of X DAO shared his technique on how to run a node using a mobile phone:

  • Step 1: Rent a Windows VPS server.
  • Step 2: Download the Remote Desktop app.
  • Step 3: Connect to the VPS server using the app.
  • Step 4: Download Putty.
  • Step 5: Follow the node installation guide.

Of course, running a node is an important part of a blockchain, and the blockchain will not let those who run nodes leave empty. In fact, more rewards are given to those who run nodes.

Currently, platforms that allow users to run a node include smart contract protocol Sui, data availability network Celestia, and layer 1 blockchain Aptos.

3. Through Ambassador Programs

Being an ambassador in the crypto industry is not an easy task. It is because ambassadors are responsible for introducing web3 to web2 users—explaining how trading works, informing them about a certain project, discussing the benefits and disadvantages of a protocol, and educating them about the basics of crypto.

Some ambassadors are called to increase community engagement in a project or platform; some are called to create content with the aim of educating viewers; and some are called to raise awareness through memes, writeups, and ads.

And in exchange, projects, of course, reward their ambassadors by giving them perks like automatic qualification to airdrops and other reward systems, early access to new features, and even exclusive programs.

To become an effective ambassador, a chatbot and a photo editor could help. Chatbots, like ChatGPT and Bing Chat, can be utilized to create effective captions for promotions, and photo editors, like Canva and Picsart, can create visual aids that can attract more users.

Closing Thoughts

Overall, being part of the web3 industry but not having your own computer should not be an obstruction to earning rewards. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When you only‌ have a mobile phone, use it to earn free crypto.

Utilizing what you have opens opportunities to reach what you need for future transactions. Maximize the power of your mobile phone, and see that the sky is the only limit.

Yes, there may be challenges, or using a phone is a bit more stressful than using computers, but learning how to maximize the potential of your current gadget will give you the opportunity to earn and buy the device that you will need for better side hustles.
