Hype Rating

The hype rating is not a one-time analysis, but a dynamic rating that will change over time throughout the lifetime of the project. It is not a judgment on the game itself, but rather a quick TLDR on the investment potential of the project at the current time. This rating is updated on a weekly basis along with our analysis.

Mavia may be the first crypto game that is genuinely fun to play and competitive to other traditional mobile games even if it did not have a play-to-earn mechanic. This is not something that can be said about the majority of the crypto game projects. As a result, this gives them the incredible potential to retain players and maintain growth through volatile swings in the crypto market. There will always be a hard-core group of players that really just enjoy playing and make it a part of their daily entertainment routine.

With a hard cap of 100k lands and effectively at the same time the number of players that can play to earn it creates incredible scarcity on owning these NFTs. This has a secondary effect of limiting the selling pressure of the play to earn a token and making it more predictable and cyclical rather than a race to the bottom. In addition, the decentralized approach to levy taxes and putting this fiscal power in the hands of the players will make increasing fees more palatable in the future and not cause a market panic as it will be the “will of the players” in their own best interest to stabilize the economy.

The entire ecosystem may be one of the only examples in the metaverse right now that mirrors reality. Where land assets appreciate in value over time due to increasing demand, and those same land assets at the same time can be utilized to generate passive income through effectively “renting” to other players.

We are very excited about the future prospects of this project and place a hype rating of 5. We are planning on investing in the NFT Lands and Mavia token to hold for the long term, and making this our largest crypto game project position to date. In the coming weeks, you will be able to follow all of our positions in real-time and track how our analysis correlates with our crypto game portfolio.

Our team is still working on potential returns between the common, rare and legendary lands and will be releasing that analysis in the near future prior to the whitelist presale.

Concept Viability

Most projects trend too far into the zone of speculation. Meaning that even if they manage to pull off their roadmap objectives, it is still up in the air if the game will be fun or not. This is one of those unique situations that we don’t need to worry about. Clash of clans is a widely popular concept and millions of players enjoy playing it and spend money to get ahead in the game each and every day. So we know the game mechanic in itself is fun, engaging, and has a genuine fanbase. Assuming the team can deliver on the promise of a CoC-like game, it is safe to assume the game on its most fundamental level will be enjoyable to the masses.Team Expertise

As we all know too well in crypto, anonymous teams and rug pull seem to go hand in hand. Happy to say this is not the case here, and the project is led by an actual game development studio with public LinkedIn profiles for anyone to see their credentials. From looking at the work history of the team members, watching the AMAs on youtube, and checking out the sneak peeks posted by the development team on a regular basis in discord. I am confident that this team has the creative and technical skillset to pull this project off.

Tokenomics

One of the most exciting parts of this project is their unique approach to tokenomics. Normally not a fan of a two token system as it has been incredibly difficult to control as proven by other projects in the past. However, Mavia has taken on a unique approach that has not been tried yet and may become the new standard for P2E games going forward. They have the usual in-game burn mechanics for Ruby for such withdrawal and marketplace fees.

Since this gameplay is so well established, they have a vast number of in-game burn mechanics that don’t seem really fluid and well integrated. Usually, burn mechanics destroy value, but in Mavia’s case, you are investing into upgrading your assets which increases their resale value on the marketplace along with allowing you to become stronger and defeat better players thus earning more ruby tokens. It’s a nice clean system that works well with the overall game loop.

The most creative part of this two token system is not only having a dynamic withdrawal fee for Ruby but also having a deposit bonus to incentivize people buying up on the marketplace to upgrade their in-game assets. With these metrics being controlled by the Mavia token stakes. This really allows for a lot of financial flexibility to stabilize the price in times of exponential growth and through periods of stagnation. Having this mechanic be controlled by the players eliminates that sour feeling of price manipulation by the devs and usually causes panic in the end.

I would advise everyone to check out the first AMA where they go over the tokenomics a little bit more in-depth. The whole AMA does a great job at explaining the game concept as well.

Marketing Strategy

Once again the team is innovating and setting new standards for future games with their marketing tactics. It may seem common sense to go quality over quantity, but no other projects have seemed to manage to crack this thus far. What I am referring to of course is the innovative way to do the Mavia whitelist.

Instead of the usual randomized lottery system, which incentivizes spamming and fake accounts essentially. The Mavia team has chosen to take applications to get on the whitelist in order to reward users that provide valuable content which will generate high-quality organic growth. This was a clever tactic to increase the SEO for the project as thousands of players from around the world are creating content and linking back to the project. Which in turn benefits everyone that wants to participate in the game for the long term by driving more engaged traffic than a typical lottery spam campaign.

The results speak for themselves, the team has been able to grow their social numbers to be comparable with other projects that have been marketing for months and they were able to accomplish this in a matter of weeks.

Community

The unique whitelist marketing strategy has resulted in a more engaged community on discord and other socials compared to other projects with similar number of users. Users in discord are actually discussing the game concepts and debating the merits of various approaches instead of just shilling on when the game will launch and how they can profit. I believe this is largely due to the game being fundamentally fun without the play to earn aspect, but providing regular updates with sneak peaks, doing AMAs, and the mod team actually responding to questions in a timely fashion instead of banning dissenting opinions has a lot to do with it. This level of transparency will continue to build a loyal following into the future.
