Genso Project, the ecosystem that surrounds GensoKishi Online, announced that the blockchain game’s User-Generated Content (UGC) feature will be integrated into Elemental Knights Online R, a non-web3 game that is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Android, and iOS.
“At GENSO PROJECT, we are excited to announce a groundbreaking collaboration between Web3 and Web2 services. Specifically, UGC equipment created with GENSO MAKER will be integrated into Elemental Knights Online R for the first time in the world,” the game developers said in an announcement.

GensoKishi x Elemental Knights
Elemental Knights Online R is a popular MMORPG that allows players to “embark on real-time adventures and battles with a multitude of people.”
As of this writing, Elemental Knights Online R serves as the prototype for GensoKishi Online.
However, the Genso Project clarified that though Elemental Knights Online R acts as a prototype of GenkoKishi Online, there is unique content on the former that is not available in the latter, as it has already undergone a number of updates.
“GensoKishi Online is known for its familiar professions and the ability to build diverse combat styles through combinations with cosplay equipment. If you are a user of GensoKishi Online, we believe you will find it an accessible title,” it added.
It should also be noted that while GensoKishi is a web3 game, Genso Project does not consider Elemental Knights Online R as one, as it will only adopt GensoKishi’s UGC feature and not the whole gameplay and tokenomics:
“It’s important to note that the concept of NFTs will not be introduced in Elemental Knights R as a Web2.0 service. Items obtained within Elemental Knights R will be for in-game use only.”
UGC Functionality Integration
Though Elemental Knights Online R is not a blockchain game, the integration of the UGC feature is expected to bring the experience brought by GensoKishi Online to its players.
In GensoKishi Online, a UGC-to-earn mechanism is being implemented. It is a program that allows those who stake their MV tokens to integrate their UGCs into the game, like creating their fashionable costumes and selling them as NFTs, owning certain “maps” and “dungeons,” and even selling their UGCs in the marketplace in exchange for crypto.
“UGC functionality is a crucial theme in constructing the Metaverse of GensoKishi Online. Unique and appealing creations by numerous creators are regularly transformed into cosplay equipment through this UGC feature,” the web3 game wrote.
With the integration, Genso Project then stressed that 25 UGCs will be selected on February 29, 2024, to be included in the Elemental Knights Online R’s game items.
“As part of the GENSO PROJECT, we aim to build an economic ecosystem in the Metaverse. In this initiative, we will select particularly attractive works from those created through the UGC feature. These selected works will be packaged into Elemental Knights R’s cosplay equipment gacha by the development teams,” the team highlighted. “This demonstrates a practical example of UGC creations transcending project boundaries and being repurposed in other work.”
Though there are no criteria set by developers about the standard for UGCs to be picked, there are cases that might disqualify a participant:
- Models that have passed the UGC model review but have not completed the NFT conversion by exchanging clay NFTs.
- Works are judged to imitate the form or idea of other creations.
- Works deemed inappropriate for expression toward young children.
- Works deemed to violate public order and morals.
- Works judged to promote criminal activities.
- Other cases where the Elemental Knights R management team deems the work inappropriate.
Meanwhile, the following benefits will be granted to the owners of the 25 UGCs that will be chosen:
- The selected works will have their model data and item names implemented directly as cosplay equipment in Elemental Knights R. These will be available on various devices, including Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and more.
- For each selected work, $20 USDT will be sent to the wallet address provided by the creator as a usage fee for the work.
- As a bonus, the names of creators whose works are selected will be credited in Elemental Knights R’s credits (staff roll).
