Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 7

Date:

One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 7. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)

1. Green Bay Packers

The Packers have the 18th-ranked fantasy defense, which averages 6.4 points per game. They have two double-digit scoring performances, which came against the Raiders and Bears. Their worst performances of the season had them score zero points, which happened against the Falcons and Lions. The Packers have 15 sacks in five games played.

Their week 7 matchup will be with the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are scoring 21.7 points per game and have struggled to get the offense going under Russell Wilson. Add in the fact that the Packers are coming off a bye week with extra time to prepare and they can capitalize. They are rostered in just 27.8 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Washington Commanders

The Commanders have the 27th-ranked fantasy defense at 3.7 points per game. Their best game was a 12-point outing against Arizona in week 1. They had a season-low -5 points against Chicago two weeks ago, but rebounded well to score seven against the Falcons in week 6.

In week 7, the Commanders will play the Giants. New York is scoring a league-low 11.8 points per game. Starting quarterback Daniel Jones missed week 6, but even with him in the lineup they have struggled. Washington’s defensive line can take advantage of a struggling Giants’ offensive line and play well. They are available in over 75 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas scores 4.7 fantasy points per game, which is good enough to be the 22nd-ranked defense. Their best performances were double-digit scoring efforts which came in the last two weeks against the Packers and the Patriots. They had a bad performance against Buffalo when they scored -6 points.

The Raiders travel to take on the Bears in week 7. Chicago is scoring 21.3 points per game. What makes things worse for the Bears is that Justin Fields is going to miss time with an injury. The Raiders can take advantage of rookie Tyson Bagent making his first career start. Las Vegas is available in over 75 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers rank 15th in fantasy points for defenses, scoring 8.8 points per game. They had double-digit points scored against both the Bears and the Saints. Their worst game of the season was when they scored zero points against the Eagles.

Tampa will play Atlanta in week 7. The Falcons are scoring just 16.5 points per game. Desmond Ridder has been inconsistent at quarterback and Arthur Smith has had trouble getting his playmakers involved. The Buccaneers know their division foe and can play them tough. They are rostered in just 21.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Seattle Seahawks

Seattle has the 12th-best fantasy defense in the league at 9.4 points per game. They scored 29 points against the Giants and 10 points against Detroit for great outings. Their worst game was a -2 point showing against the Rams in week 1.

The Seahawks play the Arizona Cardinals in week 7. Arizona is playing better than many expected this season, but still average just 20.5 points per game. They scored nine points in week 6 against the Rams when they were without starting running back James Conner, who helps the team move the chains. Seattle could hold them to fewer points. The Seahawks are rostered in less than 20 percent of ESPN leagues.
