The Philadelphia Eagles are making a pre-deadline trade to help out with the back end of the defense, which has been one of the team’s only weak spots. Philly is getting safety Kevin Byard for a 2024 fifth and sixth round pick, as well as safety Terrell Edmunds.
PFF’s Ari Meirov and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport helped break the news via Twitter on Monday.
Byard is a two-time First Team All-Pro (in 2017 and 2021) and a two-time Pro Bowler in the same years. He co-led the NFL in interceptions during the 2017 season with the Titans, the only team for which he’s played until today.
In 2022, Byard played in all 17 games, which is no small feat as the Titans’ defense suffered many injuries last season. He had 108 combined tackles, six pass defenses and four interceptions. In his Pro Bowl seasons, he had 13 interceptions combined.
Stay tuned for more breaking NFL content, including offseason moves, contract updates and more news from every team.
