Vitality ended 2023 as the undisputed best CS2 team in the world, after winning the last two big events of the year, BLAST Fall Final and BLAST World Final, defeating FaZe in both Grand Final games. Some people were surprised by the team’s success, as it came right after they made a roster change, with William “mezii” Merriman replacing the four-time-Major winner Emil “Magisk” Reif, following his departure to Team Falcons.

Despite the relatively fresh addition, the Bees look as good as ever, as they continue to dominate their opponents on the server. The international team will be eager to kick off their BLAST Spring Groups campaign on the front foot and advance straight into the Upper Final.

OG

OG’s roster has changed drastically, since their last appearance at a BLAST tournament. At the tail end of last year the international squad said goodbye to Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic and Dion “FASHR” Derksen and welcomed two young talents Bram “Nexius” Campana and Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko into the team.

The new-look squad’s biggest achievement thus far has been the qualification to the European RMR Closed Qualifier, following a successful run in the open qualifier beforehand. However, their overall recent level of performance suggests that the chances of them besting Vitality in this event’s Group A opener are slim to none.
