NFL Week 18 Picks Against the Spread

Date:

NFL Week 18 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 18 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)

Last week: 6-9-1

Season: 140-108-8

Saturday Games

Pittsburgh Steelers (-4) at Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have locked up the top seed and have no incentive to play their starters. Pittsburgh will be desperate for a win and their offense looks much more potent with Mason Rudolph at quarterback.

Pick: Steelers

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts (-1)

C.J. Stroud re-entered the lineup in week 17 and the Texans got back to their winning ways over the Titans. With a healthy Stroud they can go on the road and win to make the playoffs.

Pick: Texans

Sunday Afternoon

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints (-3.5)

The Falcons have looked better with Taylor Heinicke at quarterback. Although they didn’t play well in Chicago in week 17, they should fare better indoors against the Saints on the Road.

Pick: Falcons

Jacksonville Jaguars (-3.5) at Tennesee Titans

Jacksonville played decently with C.J. Beathard in for the injured Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars have a whole lot more to play for than the Titans so they should win and cover.

Pick: Jaguars

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions (-5.5)

The Lions had a rough time in Dallas, but can refocus at home. Minnesota has had a tough time figuring out the quarterback position and the Lions can take advantage.

Pick: Lions

New York Jets at New England Patriots (-2)

The Patriots continue to play hard and their defense is not to be messed with. Bailey Zappe has played well enough at quarterback that they can win and finish the season on a high note.

Pick: Patriots

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5) at Carolina Panthers

Carolina is a mess right now and the Buccaneers need to win to make sure they make the playoffs. They should be focused enough to win and cover.

Pick: Buccaneers

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5)

The Browns don’t have much to play for, as they are likely the top Wild Card team in the AFC. Cincinnati is out of the playoffs, but can win with their starters likely playing the full game.

Pick: Bengals

Sunday Evening

Seattle Seahawks (-3) at Arizona Cardinals

Arizona is playing well, but the Seahawks desperately need to win this game to make the playoffs. Pete Carroll will have the team ready to win and cover.

Pick: Seahawks

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers (-3)

These two teams are some of the most improved over the course of the season. The Bears’ defense is a little bit more reliable at this point and Justin Fields can make a case to stay the starter next season with a win.

Pick: Bears

Philadelphia Eagles (-5.5) at New York Giants

Philadelphia is likely going to be a Wild Card team after losing to the Cardinals. They need to use this game to get right before the playoffs. Winning by at least a touchdown is a must to be trusted heading into the playoffs.

Pick: Eagles

Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (-3.5)

The 49ers have the top seed in the NFC locked up. Los Angeles has already qualified for the playoffs, but can make sure they are the second Wild Card Team with a win.

Pick: Rams

Denver Broncos at Las Vegas Raiders (-2.5)

The Broncos have benched Russell Wilson and the offense isn’t likely going to do much. Antonio Pierce has the Raiders playing hard and has one last game to make a case to be the long-term answer at coach.

Pick: Raiders

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (-1.5)

Kansas City has won the AFC West and are likely going to be resting some starters to end the regular season. Los Angeles can win against the backups.

Pick: Chargers

Dallas Cowboys (-13.5) at Washington Commanders

The Cowboys can clinch the NFC East and the no. 2 seed with a win. They have struggled on the road, but Washington has nothing to play for and a coaching staff that is already going to be fired most likely.

Pick: Cowboys

Sunday Night Football

Buffalo Bills (-3) at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are 7-1 at home this season. Although they are banged up, they can unleash their high-flying offense in this game at home to win and secure the AFC East.

Pick: Dolphins
