NFL Week 12 Picks Against the Spread

Date:

NFL Week 12 is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL week 12 picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Tuesday morning)

Last week: 6-8, Season: 76-84-5

Thanksgiving Games

Buffalo Bills (-9) at Detroit Lions

The Bills just defeated the Browns by eight in Detroit and will play in Detroit again this week. After getting things back on track, they should be able to win and cover against the Lions, who have won three games in a row.

Pick: Bills

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-9)

The Giants have lost some momentum from their good start to the season. Dallas should be able to win the game at home on a short week, but covering a nine-point spread might be too much.

Pick: Cowboys

New England Patriots at Minnesota Vikings (-3)

The Patriots have struggled to score points this season, while the Vikings have excelled in that area for the most part. Minnesota lost to the Cowboys after an emotional win in Buffalo, but they should be able to recover and cover this week.

Pick: Vikings

Sunday Afternoon

Chicago Bears at New York Jets (-3)

New York has a full-on issue at quarterback. The defense is great, but this game figures to be low-scoring. The Bears have Justin Fields playing well and, even with a shoulder injury, he should be able to keep things close if not pull off the outright upset.

Pick: Bears

Houston Texans at Miami Dolphins (-13)

Simply put, the Texans will not be able to put up enough points to keep up with or cover against the Dolphins, especially with Miami coming off of a bye.

Pick: Dolphins

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5) at Cleveland Browns

The Buccaneers are coming off of a bye and have some momentum, as they’ve won their last two games. Cleveland is running out of gas as the season gets nearer to the end.

Pick: Buccaneers

Denver Broncos (-2.5) at Carolina Panthers

Denver has to travel across the country after dropping a tough game to the Raiders. They score the fewest amount of points in the league, so the Panthers may be able to pull off the upset, especially if D’Onta Foreman can pick up some yards on the ground.

Pick: Panthers

Baltimore Ravens (-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars

It wasn’t a great showing for the Ravens against the Panthers, but they should be able to bounce back against the Jaguars, who has won one game since week 3.

Pick: Ravens

Cincinnati Bengals (-1.5) at Tennessee Titans

This is a rematch of a playoff game from a season ago. The Bengals have D.J. Reader back, who should help them stop the run. Joe Burrow is playing at a great level, so Cincinnati can win on the road.

Pick: Bengals

Atlanta Falcons at Washington Commanders (-4)

The Commanders are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. They have won five of their last six games. Taylor Heinicke has shown the ability to make plays out of nothing, which has jumpstarted the offense. Atlanta is a solid team, but if the Commanders go up, they don’t have the passing attack to keep up.

Pick: Commanders

Sunday Evening

Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5) at Arizona Cardinals

Arizona has been a mess this season. They are on a short week and look like they may have a new coach next season. The Chargers have had some players return from injury and look like they could make a playoff push.

Pick: Chargers

Las Vegas Raiders at Seattle Seahawks (-3.5)

Seattle is coming off of a bye after playing in Germany. They have defied expectations this season and should be able to win and cover at home against the Josh McDaniels-led Raiders.

Pick: Seahawks

New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers (-8)

The 49ers destroyed the Cardinals on Monday Night Football. They are playing well, but will be on a short week. San Francisco will win the game, but it may be by just a touchdown.

Pick: Saints

Los Angeles Rams at Kansas City Chiefs (-14.5)

With Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp injured, the Chiefs can cover this massive spread.

Pick: Chiefs

Sunday Night Football

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles (-7)

The Eagles are suddenly starting to look vulnerable after losing to the Commanders and defeating the Indianapolis Colts by one. Even with all the Packers’ injuries, Aaron Rodgers will keep the game close.

Pick: Packers

Monday Night Football

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts (-2.5)

After hiring Jeff Saturday, the Colts have had more life. They are running the ball well and are competitive. The Steelers don’t have the offense to keep it within a field goal on the road.

Pick: Colts
