NFL Draft Prospects in the 2023 Celebration Bowl

Date:

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Celebration Bowl.

Howard Bison Draft Prospects

Anim Dankwah, OT

Dankwah has been playing for Howard for the last few years. He was named the All-MEAC Second Team in 2021. In 2022, he was named to the All-MEAC First Team. His impressive play continued into the 2023 season.

At 6-foot-8 and 362 pounds, Dankwah has tremendous size for an NFL offensive tackle. He has good power and has shown solid run blocking. While he has primarily played left tackle for Howard, he could move to right tackle in the pros to better fit his talents.

Projected Draft Range: Sixth Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Kenny Gallop Jr., S

Gallop Jr. has been an impact player over the last three seasons for the Bison. He made the All-MEAC Second Team in 2021. In 2022, he was an All-MEAC First Team selection. This season he has led the team in tackles and interceptions with 58 and three respectively.

He has decent size for an NFL safety at 6-foot-1 and 214 pounds. Gallop has proven to be a good tackler and this season he has shown improved ball skills. If he can prove himself on special teams, he has a chance to make an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Florida A&M Rattlers Draft Prospects

Javan Morgan, CB

Morgan has played plenty of games for the Rattlers over the last several years. He played nine games in 2019 before the 2020 season was canceled for COVID. Morgan played in 11 games during the 2021 season. He really started creating an impact in 2022 with four interceptions and 42 total tackles. For his efforts, he was named to the All-SWAC Second Team. For the 2023 season, Morgan tallied 31 tackles, four passes defended and three interceptions.

At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Morgan will be on the lighter side for an NFL cornerback. He has shown good ball skills over the last two seasons, but will need to add to his frame to deal with physical wide receivers in the NFL. He likely won’t be drafted, but could have a chance to make an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Isaiah Major, LB

Major started his college career at the JUCO level, but has been an impact player for Florida A&M for the last two seasons. He was a First Team All-SWAC selection in 2022 with 83 total tackles and 13.5 tackles for loss. In 2023, Major totaled 89 tackles and two sacks.

He has ok size for an NFL linebacker at 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds. Major has been great at reading plays and getting to ball carriers, which could help him at the next level. He likely won’t be drafted, but could make a roster starting with special teams play.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Other Draft Prospects: CB Kendall Bohler (UFA), QB Jeremy Moussa (UFA)
