NFL Conference Championship Picks Against the Spread

Date:

The NFL Wild Card Round is here. Picking NFL games straight up is hard enough, but picking against the spread is even tougher. Here are the NFL Conference Championship picks against the spread. (Spreads are from Tallysight as of Monday morning)

Last week: 0-4

Season: 149-125-8

AFC Championship Game

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens (-3)

The Chiefs won a tough game against Buffalo on the road. Patrick Mahomes is incredible, but they still aren’t playing their best football. Between drops, fumbles and injuries, it just hasn’t looked crisp. Baltimore on the other hand has been playing really well. Their receivers are stepping up for Lamar Jackson. Jackson’s legs can help him in this game as well, after Josh Allen found success against the Chiefs’ defense on the ground. The Ravens can win and cover at home with great energy in the stadium carrying them.

Pick: Ravens

NFC Championship Game

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers (-6.5)

The big concern for the 49ers is their health. When their offense suffers an injury it can look a lot different. Deebo Samuel was injured early in the Divisional Round and the 49ers struggled. They should still be able to win the game, but it could be tougher than expected if Samuel can’t play. The Lions can run the ball and protect Jared Goff enough, even against a good 49ers pass rush to keep this game close. Look for Jahmyr Gibbs to make some plays as well, although San Francisco will likely protect their home field and win a close game.

Pick: Lions
