The New England Patriots have signed quarterback Will Grier to their active roster according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Grier was recently signed to the Bengals practice squad after the preseason.
Grier, 28, has started in two NFL games, which were in 2019 for the Carolina Panthers. He has 228 passing yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions on 53.8 percent completion in his career. Grier specifically impressed this preseason for the Dallas Cowboys.
Following the Dallas trade for Trey Lance, Grier was signed to the Bengals’ practice squad. With Joe Burrow banged up, Jake Browning is the only other healthy quarterback on the Bengals’ roster. In New England, Grier will join a quarterback room that includes Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham.
