Our teams are ready to hit the Summoners Rift, fighting for a top-two seed to compete in the PCS playoffs–their chance at Worlds in South Korea. With a brand new best-of-two format, which teams will succeed?
- Ground Zero eliminated against Dire Wolves
- Mammoth leaps up in standings after perfect series against Vertex
- First place tiebreaker Wednesday, July 12 @ 6pm
With Kanga and Ground Zero’s eliminations written in stone earlier this week by Pentanet and the Dire Wolves respectively, our teams for the Split 2 playoffs have been locked in.
Having made their LCO debut in Split 2, Vertex are locked into sixth place and with it, the last spot in the playoffs. The roster of rookies have faced adversity and although things looked a bit grim at first, they were able to follow in the footsteps of fellow newcomers in Bliss, securing some convincing wins that were absolutely integral to their playoffs qualification.
Pentanet have seen a fairly shaky split, with a majority of their Bo2s ending in ties before making their final sprint with back-to-back series wins. Fresh off last split’s early departure, they’ve gradually picked up the place, charging towards a different outcome.
The Dire Wolves finished the last regular split as first seed, now sitting in fourth place after another fairly convincing performance throughout the split, topped by their league-long rivals in The Chief, Team Bliss and Mammoth. The Wolfpack aim to claw their way back to the top and reclaim their dominance from times gone by.
Following the outcome of their match last night against Vertex, Mammoth leaped from fifth place to third thanks to their additional three points. After rebuilding their roster between the splits, they’re looking stronger than ever.
A new competitive streak has formed between the two Brisbane based teams in Bliss and The Chiefs, who once again, find themselves dead even. Even when they were supposed to settle the score during their much-anticipated reunion on Monday, it ended in yet another tie.
Side by side at the top of the ladder, the score will be settled as they clash on the Rift once more this evening, marking the last match of the regular split.
We’re covering everything LCO Split 2; streams, schedule, rosters, and more.

LCO Split 2 2023 Schedule & Results
There have been some major changes to the format of the LCO ahead of Split 2 this June. The round-robin stage will be played in best-of-twos as opposed to the former two separate best-of-one matches.
Points will be allocated depending on the results, with three awarded for a victorious flawless series, and one point to each team for a 1-1 outcome. Side selections will be submitted from both teams prior to the beginning of a series.
By the end of the round-robin, the top six teams will move into the next stage.
Rather than seeding into groups, the LCO has opted in favour of a double elimination playoffs bracket to give all teams a fighting chance.
The top two teams in our LCO playoffs will seed respectively for PCS playoffs, where they’ll be competing for a shot at Worlds in South Korea in October.
