Fantasy Football Players to Add Week 18

Date:

Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 18. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)

1. Zamir White, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

White has filled in for Josh Jacobs over the last few weeks and has impressed. In week 17, he rushed for 71 yards on 20 carries. He also hauled in five passes for 35 yards for a decently productive day.

With the Raiders out of playoff contention, there isn’t much incentive for Jacobs to suit up and play in week 18. That means White will have the backfield again with a chance to go up against the Broncos. They have a solid defense, but they also won’t be playing for anything in week 18. White is rostered in just 43.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Khalil Herbert, RB, Chicago Bears

Herbert has battled injuries this season, but over the last two weeks, he is proving why he was the starting running back to start the season. In week 17, he rushed 18 times for 124 yards and one touchdown. He added two catches for five yards.

With Herbert reestablishing himself, he is worth adding and possibly starting for week 18, especially once teams start announcing some of their players will be sitting out. The Bears will have plenty of motivation to play well against the Packers in week 18 even though they are out of the playoff race. Herbert is owned in just 49.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Elijah Mitchell, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Mitchell is clearly the backup in San Francisco, but he still sees some playing time. Against the Commanders in week 17, Mitchell rushed 17 times for 80 yards and a touchdown.

The 49ers have locked up the top seed in the NFC and they may be resting some of their starters. Even if they don’t fully rest them, the backups will likely get a lot of run. Mitchell can have a big game in week 18 against the Rams. He is available in over 86 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Justice Hill, RB, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have supported multiple running backs over the last few years. Hill stepped up in week 17, with was his first big game in a while after Keaton Mitchell emerged. He had three rushes for 48 yards and five catches for 64 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins.

Baltimore already has a bye, so they have limited incentive to play their starters. Gus Edwards will likely be preserved for the playoffs, even if he plays a little bit to start the game. That opens things up for Hill, who is coming off a good performance. He is rostered in 16.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Greg Dortch, WR, Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals needed other wide receivers to step up after Marquise Brown was placed on IR. Dortch delivered in week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished the game with seven catches for 82 yards.

Dortch had two good games in a row and will continue filling a void in the Cardinals’ offense. They will be playing the Seahawks in week 18, which will be tough, but the Cardinals have to throw the ball to someone an Dortch has proven he can be productive in spurts. He is available in over 97 percent of ESPN leagues.
