South Korea’s largest social gaming app, GameTalkTalk, and leading NFTs developer, Enjin is collaborating for creating eco-friendly non-fungible tokens (NFT). The move could give a boost to the non-fungible token market in South Korea with GameTalkTalk being the largest social gaming platform in the country.

Bringing Carbon-Neutral NFTs to GameTalkTalk’s 3M Users

Enjin has formed an alliance with Ludena Protocol, the publisher behind the gaming app for minting digital fashion, real estate NFTs, furniture, and pets.

By using Enjin’s interoperable bridging network and scaling solution, JumpNet, energy consumption can be significantly reduced through a relatively new consensus mechanism.

Known as proof-of-authority (PoA), the mechanism is based on a permission state where only invited parties can participate as nodes on a private blockchain.

Using the proof-of-authority (PoA) mechanism, companies can reduce power consumption by 99.98%, in comparison to Ethereum or Bitcoin networks that require huge computing power based on proof-of-work consensus.

In an announcement release, Maxim Blagov, CEO of Enjin, said:

“We’re thrilled to work with GameTalkTalk to bring carbon-neutral NFTs to their 3 million users. This is also a unique opportunity to show some of the legendary companies they’ve worked with how NFTs are creating highly-engaged communities that drive new users to games, in a sustainable way.”

Enjin Plans to Enable Carbon-Neutral NFTs by 2020

When JumpNet launches on April 6, GameTalkTalk will use the Proof of Authority consensus mechanism to provide free and instant NFT transactions to its clients that includes Blizzard, SEGA, and Nexon.

Joshua Kim, CEO of Ludena Protocol, said:

“We are so excited to be collaborating with the Enjin team, who are global leaders in the NFT phenomenon, particularly in their proactiveness in tackling the many associated environmental concerns through their innovative JumpNet blockchain.”

Enjin was founded in 2009 as a gaming community platform while shifting its focus to NFTs in 2017. The company has recently taken up with a sustainable approach by releasing a five-step plan to enable carbon-neutral NFTs by 2030.
