The Ducks rallied from behind to beat the Wild 3-2 Saturday evening.
Minnesota led 2-1 after the first, but the Ducks scored two unanswered in the third for the win.
Troy Terry led the Ducks with two goals. It was Ryan Strome picking up the other goal for Anaheim. Adam Henrique added two assists. For Minnesota it was Kirill Kaprizov and Jon Merrill scoring. Mat Zuccarello added two assists.
This is Anaheim’s eighth come from behind win in the third. This ties them for the league lead with the Flames, Red Wings, Avalanche, and Stars.
Lukas Dostal picked up the win with 35 saves.
Anaheim has now collected at least one point in three straight games.
The Minnesota Wild started Saturday’s game in control, getting on the board in just under seven minutes with a Kaprizov wrister low in the zone.
Troy Terry would answer under two minutes later. Frank Vatrano would force a turnover in Minnesota territory, then send a pass in the slot to a wide open Terry. Terry would send a wrist shot over the shoulder of Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson.
After that Jon Merrill tipped one in for Minnesota giving them a 2-1 lead after one period of play.
At 6:02 in the second period Marcus Johansson would score for Minnesota. Until Ducks coach Greg Cronin challenged the goal for offsides. After review the refs agreed Matt Boldly had gone offsides.
Dostal would save 17 shots in the second to keep the Ducks in the game, as the western foes headed to the locker rooms still 2-1.
The third was all Anaheim on the scoreboard. Ryan Strome would tip in a Radko Gudas wrist shot from the blue line tying things up.
Then Troy Terry, who has eight points in his last five games, skated into the Minnesota shooting the puck into a Minnesota defender. He gathered his own rebound and beat Gustavsson for what would be the winning goal with 8:20 left in the game. Adam Henrique picked up the assist. He now has 10 points in his last nine games.
Ducks goalie Lukas Dostal credited the win to his teammates ability to box Minnesota out down low, helping keep out any second chances.
Anaheim will see Minnesota two more times before the season ends.
The Ducks will enjoy some time off until Wednesday when they will face the Sharks at home. San Jose just beat the Ducks in a sloppy 5-3 loss for Anaheim.
Wednesday’s game will be the third meeting for the rivals this season with the series tied 1-1.
