Drew Brees to Become Interim Assistant Coach at Purdue

Date:

Super Bowl Champion Drew Brees is returning to Purdue. After head coach Jeff Brohm left to coach at Louisville, Brees reportedly wanted to help the school through the coaching transition and in their bowl game.

Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger reported the news via Twitter on Thursday.

During his time at Purdue, Brees played in 45 games, completing over 1,000 passes and throwing for 11,792 yards. He tossed 90 touchdowns to 45 interceptions on his way to two Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year awards.

On top of winning the first-ever Super Bowl for the Saints and winning Super Bowl MVP, he holds multiple NFL records. These include, but aren’t limited to, the highest career completion percentage and most consecutive games with a touchdown pass. He will attempt to help Purdue beat LSU in the Citrus Bowl.
