Date:

Bank99, a new banking entity set up by Austrian Post, has signed a six-year contract with Diebold Nixdorf for ATM management and optimisation.

Diebold Nixdorf signs a contract worth $20m

Bank99, founded in 2019 as a joint venture between Austrian Post and insurance giant GRAWE Group, operates in 413 locations via distribution partners on the Austrian Post network.

The bank focuses on providing services to those in local communities and rural areas.

Diebold Nixdorf’s new contract with the bank is valued at $20 million and will help bank99 “enhance customer connectivity across bank and post branches.”

The deal is underpinned by Diebold Nixdorf’s AllConnect ServicesSM platform, and includes nearly 500 self-service devices across 300 branches.

The ATMs will run on a single software platform, DN VynamicTM.

Diebold Nixdorf claims extensive roots to Austrian public firms, demonstrated via partnerships with local technology companies. Bank99’s core banking provider ARZ is one such partner.

“We had a vision that our clients would have access to our differentiated offerings through one connected channel,” says Michael Wiedeck, chief sales officer at bank99.

“With Diebold Nixdorf, we now have the resources and the business partnership to turn that vision into a reality at optimal cost to operate.”

He adds: “As a banking start-up in the 21st century, the ability to scale our digital retail banking offering to our Austrian customers in many remote locations is not only valuable, but also absolutely critical.”
