Browns Sign Tight End Devin Asiasi to Practice Squad

Date:

After being waived by the Cincinnati Bengals in August of 2023, tight end Devin Asiasi already has a new team. Their AFC North rivals, the Cleveland Browns, have signed the 26-year-old to their practice squad. It is unclear at the moment whether or not he will be promoted to the active roster in short order.

The Cleveland Browns’ official Twitter account released the news on Tuesday.

Asiasi was a third round draft pick (91st overall) by the New England Patriots back in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played college football at UCLA. After two years with the team, he was released, leading the Bengals to sign him and play him in 12 games in 2022. He did not make the final 53-man roster in 2023.

In those 12 games last year, Asiasi caught two passes on just four targets for five yards. He caught no passes in 2021, and during his rookie year, caught two balls for 39 yards and his only career touchdown up to this point.
