Apex Legends is no stranger to bugs, as is the case with any constantly updating games. While Respawn has been dealing with the cheating issue in the game, it seems some other potentially game-breaking issues have slipped through the cracks. A new bug involving Gibraltar’s shield has many players confused and annoyed with the state of the game, as it can entirely negate grenade damage if done right.
This bug uses Gibraltar’s gun shield to completely block close-range damage from grenades. It seems that this works with all throwables, and as long as Gibraltar is aiming his shield at the grenade it will completely block damage. This can cause serious issues in-game, especially in late-game scenarios when grenades are used for chip damage as well as clearing areas and zoning buildings. Fuse in specific becomes almost useless with this bug in play, as most of his kit revolves around grenades. Gibraltar has always been a strong character but this allows him to completely negate the only no-ability utility in the game.
As long as this bug is still live, most high ranked teams will have to have a Gibraltar on their team, even if they don’t like using the character. He is now even more necessary for each trio to have, and players will be at a distinct disadvantage for not playing alongside one at this point. Respawn will need to fix this bug quickly, as it completely changes the dynamic of the game, and negates a huge part of the item pool.
