2023 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings

Date:

The 2023 NFL Draft is over, giving a clearer picture of rosters for the 2023 season. With that fantasy football rankings can be released. Here are the 2023 fantasy football quarterback rankings. (Note: These are best used for standard-scoring leagues and will be updated until the season starts)

1-5

1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes finished the 2022 season as the top quarterback. He is not only a superstar, but he is the safest bet to be the top quarterback again in 2023.

2. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

While Mahomes ranked first last season, Hurts was the top scorer on a points-per-game basis. He has improved as a passer and brings a rushing threat to the position to make him one of the most valuable fantasy quarterbacks.

3. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Allen was the second-ranked quarterback in 2022 and that was with an elbow injury that he had to play through. Being healthy in 2023 should help him finish in a similar position, as well as adding new weapon Dalton Kincaid into the fold at tight end.

4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

In 2022, Burrow ranked fourth for fantasy quarterbacks. The Bengals have added to their offensive line and Burrow retained all important targets from the 2022 season.

5. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Jackson was one of six quarterbacks to average over 20 points per game last season. He has had struggles with injuries and the offense will change, but the 2023 season should see Jackson rank as one o the top fantasy quarterbacks in the league.

6-10

6. Justin Fields, Chicago Bears

The 2022 season provided Fields an opportunity for growth, as he ranked sixth as a fantasy quarterback. His rushing skills prop up his ranking and now the Bears have supported him by acquiring D.J. Moore at wide receiver and a right tackle in Darnell Wright.

7. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence ranked eight last season, showing his development at the position. Calvin Ridley will join the fold and help him develop even further in 2023.

8. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

After finishing 11th last season, Herbert has a new wide receiver coming to town in Quentin Johnston. When he, Mike Williams and Keenan Allen are all healthy, it should make for a great wide receiver core to bolster Herbert’s stock.

9. Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks

Smith shocked the world and finished as the fifth-ranked quarterback in 2022. The Seahawks have helped him out by drafting rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba to partner with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, so he should be able to finish top 10 again.

10. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings cut Adam Thielen, but drafted Jordan Addison. They may be moving on from Dalvin Cook, which could impact this ranking if it does come true. Cousins finished seventh last year and should be a top-10 fantasy quarterback if things stay the way they are right now.

11-15

11. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Tagovailoa averaged 18.4 points per game in 2022. If he can stay healthy, he is a top 10 quarterback, but that has been hard for him to accomplish.

12. Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Last season, Brian Daboll was able to work with Daniel Jones and get the most out of him. Those two working together helped him rank ninth and he can finish similarly in 2023.

13. Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets

Rodgers did not have a great fantasy season last year. He is on a new team with more proven receivers to work with, so he should bounce back a little bit.

14. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Prescott led the highest-scoring offense in the NFL last season, but needs to cut down on the interceptions and use his legs a little more.

15. Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns

Watson looked rusty when he returned from suspension last season. He is a candidate to bounce back, especially with a good offensive line in front of him.

16-20

16. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

After ranking top 10 last season, Goff may have a tough time to start next year, as Jameson Williams is suspended for six games and D.J. Chark is no longer on the team.

17. Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

Richardson tested off the charts athletically at the NFL Combine and his ability to run gives him a chance to even finish higher than this rankings.

18. Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints

The Saints needed a quarterback and acquired Carr. He didn’t have a great season for the Raiders in 2022, but will have some new scenery, Chirs Olave and Michael Thomas to work with.

19. Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

Wilson had a rough 2022 season, but with Sean Payton taking the reins, there is some hope that he can find his form in Denver.

20. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Stafford battled injuries last season and the Rams have lost some key pieces over the last two years. His stock has dropped, but if he is healthy, he may have some good football left in the tank.

21-25

21. Jimmy Garoppolo, Las Vegas Raiders

Josh McDaniels decided to get a familiar face at quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo. He likely won’t have a stellar season, but is solid enough to steady the ship.

22. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Murray would rank higher on this list, but is still recovering from his torn ACL. If he returns next season, he likely will be limited as a runner.

23. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

The Packers are turning over the reins of the offense to Love. They have young receivers they need to bring along. Love has had plenty of time to learn the position behind Rodgers the last few years.

24. Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pickett had a solid rookie season who ranked 28th, after not beginning the year as the starter. With some new offensive linemen protecting up front, Pickett can improve in 2023.

25. C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans

Stroud didn’t land in a great spot for fantasy relevance, but he will have Robert Woods to help him along and John Metchie has recovered from cancer to give him a weapon.

26-30

26. Bryce Young, Alabama Crimson Tide

27. Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans

28. Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons

29. Mac Jones, New England Patriots

30. Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers

31-35

31. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

32. Sam Howell, Washington Commanders

33. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

34. Jacoby Brissett, Washington Commanders

35. Will Levis, Tennessee Titans
