YouTuber Receives $100k In Crypto Donations After YouTube Ban

Date:

Stefan Molyneux is a white supermacist and YouTuber that now receives $100,000 in crypto donations after the video platform decided to ban him and completely remove his channel.

We can see that online supporters donated around $100,000 in cryptocurrency to the YouTuber and alt-right activist Molyneux following his removal from the platform for “fomenting violence and hatred.”

After he posted a video to his Twitter account on June 29 where he stated that YouTube had banned him from the platform, he issued a request for donations in cryptocurrency through his website. The alt-right activist listed addresses for many coins including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Dash (DASH), Skycoin (SKY), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Monero (XMR).

At press time, the supporters of Molyneux are vocal in the crypto news and have sent 433 in Bitcoin Cash (BCH), as well as dozens of small Bitcoin transactions of mostly 0.001 BTC or less, three small ETH donations which totaled roughly $10, 0.3 in DASH, no Skycoin and no DOGE. Altogether, the YouTuber receives $100,000 in crypto and could be waiting for more.

What’s interesting is the fact that Molyneux made a similar request for cryptocurrency donations to his social media followers in January, when YouTube revoked his channel and the YouTube Partner Program behind it. The action prevented him from earning money on the platform.

“We have strict policies prohibiting hate speech on YouTube, and terminate any channel that repeatedly or egregiously violates those policies,” a spokesman for the platform spoke with CNN at the time in response to the ban, pointing to Molyneux and stating that his removal was part of an update to “better address supremacist content” promoting such speech.

What’s also visible is that while the YouTuber receives donations, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) described him as “a skilled propagandist and an effective communicator within the racist and alt-right pro-Trump ranks” which promote scientific racism and eugenics.

The Facebook and Instagram pages of Molyneux are still active but his PayPal account was terminated in November this year. In addition to this, YouTube removed six high profile and alt-right figures that promoted hate speech and violence on their platform in June.
