Rivalry Bring Sports And Esports Betting To Australia

Canada-based sports and esports betting specialists Rivalry have begun operating in Australia after successfully opening its services across the country last week.

The company is offering a wide range of sports betting services, including coverage of all the top sports around the world including those that will especially appeal to an Australian market.

In addition, as you’ll know if you have read our Rivalry review, the site is also offering an extensive range of esports betting services that includes betting on all the top esports titles such as League of Legends, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Dota 2, Overwatch, Call of Duty and more.

The launch came after the bookmaker was handed a license to operate in the country by the Northern Territory Racing Commission (Australia), which means that the company can now operate legally across the length and breadth of the country.

Different Approach

Co-Founder and CEO of Rivalry, Steven Salz, revealed his delight at the news Rivalry was now live in Australia and he promised to bring something different to the sports and esports betting markets already operating in the country.

We are very excited to bring Rivalry to customers in Australia,” said Salz after the launch.

We take a very different approach than traditional betting operators, and have been particularly successful among Gen Z and young Millennial’s across the globe.

We are very eager to start building our brand equity in Australia through a series of innovative activations and campaigns as we ramp up services throughout the remainder of 2022

As we do everywhere, servicing and helping to grow the esports and gaming community will be a priority for us,” he concluded.

Expansion Of Global Operations

Rivalry’s opening in Australia is just the latest in what is likely to be a series of expansions into new countries and territories around the world in 2022 and beyond for Rivalry.

The Toronto Venture Exchange-listed company was one of the first companies to open to customers in the Canadian province of Ontario back on April 4 and the company is believed to have multiple other licensing applications in the process of being granted in several other territories around the world.

The expansion has certainly helped boost revenue at the company as Rivalry saw its revenue grow by 640% to $11.1 million in the 2021 financial year, as reported last month.

Their growth into new countries has been helped by reserves of $35.5 million in cash, plus zero debt as reported in their end of year figures just last month.

The company is also famous for the development of one of the world’s first games in the Massively Multiplayer Online Gambling Games genre, called Rushlane.

Exciting Times Ahead Down Under

Rivalry opening in Australia promises exciting times ahead for the people of Australia, especially those in its dominant demographic of Gen Z and young Millennials.

Certainly, Rivalry’s expertise in the esports sector will not just improve the options for esports betting in Australia, but will also enhance the burgeoning esports industry that is bubbling across the country.

More options means more choices for Australians and Rivalry’s opening at www.rivalry.com gives Australians an exciting new option when betting in the country.
