The prestigious VLSI Design conference took place from Jan 4-8th in Bengaluru, India. Xilinx participation included a booth demo, which subsequently won “Best Booth Award”! As the demo was showing an AI application, let’s take a quick look.
This was a demonstration of the Tiny Yolo Object Detector, running as part of the Vitis flow, on our next generation Versal ACAP devices.
The demo had eight inputs, four from MIPI cameras and four being read from files. Versal’s AI Engines were being used to run the Tiny Yolo classifier on all eight streams. The block digram is shown below.
This is representative of designs found in Smart city applications. It’s also could be used as the object detection portion of Automotive ADAS applications.
