For instance, the number of Bitcoin (BTC) is limited to 21 million, while the number of U.S. dollars typically increases over time. With everything else being equal, if the supply of the U.S. dollar increases, the value of Bitcoin in dollars should also increase. This essentially means that the limited supply of Bitcoin is a good hedge against the increased supply of the U.S. dollar. Over $5M in BTC Raised to Support Ukrainian Army One of the largest non-governmental organizations (NGOs) providing support to Ukraine’s military, Come Back Alive, has received over $5 million in bitcoin donations after Russia launched a full-scale attack against Ukraine. At the time of writing, the wallet address has over 133 BTC. Founded in 2014, the Kyiv-based group provides support to Ukrainian soldiers, including a range of military equipment, training services, and medical supplies. At the same time, the country’s Ministry of Defence has also set up a designated bank account to accept donations for Ukrainian armies in fiat currencies.
