Suns Hire Frank Vogel as Head Coach

Date:

The Phoenix Suns’ hunt for their next head coach has come to an end relatively quickly. They have decided to hire former Lakers and Pacers head coach Frank Vogel, who won an NBA Championship in the bubble back in 2020.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news via Twitter on Friday.

Vogel began his NBA coaching career back in 2001 as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics. He then made moves to Philadelphia and Indiana before finally being named the Pacers’ permanent head coach for the 2011 season.

He made his most significant contribution to the NBA landscape when he was hired by the Lakers in 2019. After play resumed in the bubble, he and the Lakers won the NBA Championship in six games over the Miami Heat, giving LeBron his fourth title. He will now coach Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and the rest of the Suns as they try and extend their championship window.
