Sonic Rumble has finally gone live today on both mobile and PC. It’s SEGA’s new party royale game that lets up to 32 players compete for victory. Rovio of Angry Birds fame worked with SEGA on the game’s global marketing.
The Sonic Rumble launch follows months of anticipation. The game had its first CBT in the US in May 2024. Later, it soft-launched in phases from June 2024 to July 2025. And now, it’s finally out all over the world.
Step into Dr. Eggman’s bizarre Toy World!
The game drops you into Dr. Eggman’s Toy World. Here, miniature versions of Sonic the Hedgehog and friends battle it out across dangerous obstacle courses and competitive arenas. The main goal is to collect the most Rings and prove who’s the ultimate Rumbler.
You can dash, spin, and tumble through iconic Sonic locations like Green Hill Zone and Sky Sanctuary while learning new tricks to survive Dr. Eggman’s traps.
You can unlock and personalise toy versions of familiar characters, including Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and Dr. Eggman. Each can be fitted with unique skins, animations, emotes, and effects.
If you join in during the launch period, you can grab some special in-game rewards. They include character skins, stickers, and other collectibles to kickstart your toybox journey. So, check out the game on the Google Play Store.
SEGA has bigger plans for Sonic Rumble!
They have confirmed that the game will feature crossover events that bring in guest characters from other SEGA franchises. They also have upcoming updates will introduce new stages, a top league in the Rumble Rankings, and the BioLizard in co-op battles.
Sonic Rumble also marks a new moment for the Sonic franchise. That’s because it’s the first Sonic game to feature cross-play between mobile and PC. The game is free-to-play, so do give it a spin!
