The Washington Commanders have fired Ron Rivera as their head coach according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Rivera went 26-40-1 over four seasons with the Commanders. The team finished 4-13 this season. They did not finish above .500 during Rivera’s tenure.
The Commanders have a new ownership group and are looking to start a new era. Bob Myers has been hired after spending time with the Golden State Warriors of the NBA to help the team find the next coach.
Washington will also have the no. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
