Impressive wasteland creation by @r1ckp on X/Twitter. Hack into it, discover some stories, and embark on a side mission. How would you utilize your retro-futuristic terminal? The electronics setup is rather simple, centered on the Pi 400. Excellent discovery by Tom’s Hardware:
This replica mirrors the original terminal perfectly, right down to the worn-out paint and sleek, curved edges. It operates a custom interface resembling the command line interface (CLI) from the games. The device includes an LCD screen for video output, which Rick positioned behind a Fresnel lens to achieve a rounded appearance.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the terminal serves a practical role in Rick's smart home setup. It functions as an interactive text-based assistant powered by OpenAI, capable of processing commands for tasks such as adjusting lights, playing music, or managing various other smart home features.
