Paris-based nfinite Lands $100M Round For 3D Product Visualization Platform

Date:

Buying things online has become part of our everyday lives, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its drawbacks.

One of the main ones is the consumer’s inability to see the product in all its dimensions.

Paris-based nfinite thinks it may be able to change that. The e-commerce and visualization company just banked $100 million in a Series B funding led by Insight Partners to help.

The company’s platform allows retailers to create and display 3D product visuals through CGI technology. This helps potential customers understand the product’s look and dimensions.

Broader implications

Such a platform may become even more valuable as companies explore the metaverse and 3D visualization may not just be something nice to have as a retailer, but rather a necessity.

“E-commerce is increasingly virtual and consumers yearn for immersive online shopping and personalized experiences, yet e-merchandising—the link between the product, the consumer, and the online cart—was broken,” said Alexandre de Vigan, the company’s founder and CEO. “So, we helped fix it by building a one-stop solution for creating, displaying and managing unlimited product visuals almost instantly.”

The e-commerce sector has exploded through the years on both the consumer and the venture investing side. In its release announcing the raise, nfinite said e-commerce is forecasted to grow 50%—reaching sales of $7.4 trillion—through the next four years, according to Statista.

E-commerce startups overall

Investors have taken note. According to Crunchbase data, VC-backed e-commerce startups raised a record $82 billion last year, as online shopping continued its pandemic growth. Thus far this year, e-commerce startups have raised about $21 billion.

The new raise is nfinite’s second in just four months. It announced a $15 million Series A in February. Founded in 2017, the company has now raised more than $122 million to date, according to Crunchbase data.
