Following their underdog run all the way to the trophy at the IEM Rio Major, Outsiders have qualified for the $1,000,000, eight-team BLAST Premier World Final. They will head out to Abu Dhabi for the season-ending spectacle, which takes place December 14-18.
Outsiders join three teams who have already qualified for the event, Natus Vincere, FaZe and Vitality, who secured their spots by winning BLAST Premier Spring Final, the PGL Antwerp Major and ESL Pro League Season 15, and ESL Pro League Season 16 respectively.
Outsiders’ epic win in Rio has secured them a World Final spot
Half of the spots are now decided for BLAST’s final event of the year, with four more left to be filled. Those four be finalised after the upcoming BLAST Fall Final event in Copenhagen, which takes place November 23-27, with the winner of that tournament also securing a berth.
The rest of the teams are taken from the BLAST World Final Leaderboard, which grants teams points based on tournament finishes throughout the year, with teams like G2, OG and Heroic currently in pole position to secure qualification.
Ninjas in Pyjamas and Liquid are also in the running, and would need deep finishes in the BLAST Fall Final to garner the points required. ENCE can also still qualify, but would need the Fall Final standings to shake out precisely in their favour.
