Opera introduced the world’s first browser that has a built-in crypto wallet back in 2018 and since then, it integrated a few blockchains like Ethereum, Celo, Nervos, and Bitcoin. The platform entered into a partnership with NEAR, Polygon, Handshake, Solana, and more. It outlined the goal is not to focus on one blockchain or token but Opera wants to integrate multiple blockchains and decentralized domain naming systems in the crypto browsers so enabling the users to decide.

Moving ahead, the browser will add more features like Layer 2 support for growing networks and due to the environmental concerns and higher transaction costs, the browser underscored the importance of the Layer 2 solutions as the industry moves from PoW to PoS networks. As a part of the efforts to boost Layer 2 adoption, Opera will integrate Polygon and will allow users to transact with MATIC. The deal also included access to dapps like Aave, SushiSwap, Balancer, and more.

Opera revealed its most recent partnership and the browser that features a built-in crypto wallet and uses Ethereum’s web 3.0 API, allowing its users to transact into Polygon’s MATIC native token by also eliminating passwords, helping to remove barriers for entry for all newcomers.
