The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Alamo Bowl.
Arizona Wildcats Draft Prospects
Jacob Cowing, WR
Cowing started his college career at UTEP before he transferred to Arizona for the last two seasons. In his career, he has 309 receptions for 4,325 yards and 31 touchdowns. This season, Cowing has hauled in 83 passes for 696 yards and 11 touchdowns.
At 5-foot-11 and 174 pounds, Cowing is a smaller receiver. He will need to add weight to hold up against more physical coverage in the NFL. Cowing has good experience and has shown nice route-running ability at the collegiate level to separate.
Projected Draft Range: 3rd Round Pick-5th Round Pick
Michael Wiley, RB
Wiley joined Arizona in 2019 and gradually became more of an impact player over time. In his career, Wiley has 1,693 rushing yards, 1,150 receiving yards and 28 total touchdowns. This season, he has tallied 292 rushing yards, 306 receiving yards and eight total touchdowns.
He has decent size at 6-foot and 207 pounds, which should help him deal with the wear and tear of the NFL. Wiley battled injury this season, but still was productive. His experience catching the ball out of the backfield only helps his stock.
Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Oklahoma Sooners Draft Prospects
Walter Rouse, OT
Walter Rouse played four seasons at Stanford before transferring to Oklahoma before the 2023 season. He was a Second Team Freshman All-American in 2019. Rouse was honorable mention All-Pac-12 in 2020. He started at left tackle for the Sooners in 2023 and was All-Big 12 honorable mention.
At 6-foot-6 and 323 pounds, Rouse has good size for an NFL offensive tackle. Rouse has good strength and has plenty of experience. He will likely end up being a late-round pick or an undrafted free agent in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Projected Draft Range: 5th Round Pick-7th Round Pick
Drake Stoops, WR
Stoops, the son of former head coach Bob Stoops, joined Oklahoma in 2018 and is one of the more experienced players after slowly breaking into the lineup. In his career, he has 158 catches for 1,794 yards and 17 touchdowns. This season, Stoops has caught 78 passes for 880 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He is undersized for a wide receiver at 5-foot-10 and 189 pounds. Stoops will likely have to play in the slot at the next level. He understands the game and understands how to find soft spots in zone coverage to get open. Stoops will have a chance to make a roster.
Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent
