Marvel’s Iron Man VR Is Coming To Quest 2

Date:

Step into the role of everyone’s favorite genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.

During yesterday’s Meta Connect 2022 conference, it was revealed that Marvel’s Iron Man VR will be heading to Meta Quest 2 next month. Originally released on PlayStation VR in 2020, the first-person action game offers players the chance to step into the shoes of one of comic books’ most iconic superheroes and embark on an original adventure that’ll have you battling an army of deadly drones.

“Tony Stark has retired from making weapons and instead creates technology used to battle evil as Iron Man,” says the game’s official description. “After several years as a world-famous Super Hero, Tony is attacked by the mysterious Ghost, a hacker and anti-corporate activist who repurposes old Stark Industries weapons. In her efforts to topple his empire, Ghost attacks Stark’s corporate locations around the world, leading to ever-escalating stakes and a final showdown.”

If the Quest 2 version is anything like the original, fans of the Armored Avenger are in for a treat. The game, while brief, features plenty of high-flying action. Using the PlayStation Move motion controllers, players control Iron Man’s Repulsor Jets to blast enemy drones while zipping through the sky. The game even lets you visit Tony’s futuristic garage to upgrade your armor and abilities.

Iron Man VR will launch on Meta Quest 2 on November 3rd. It was also announced that the game’s developer, Camouflaj (Iron Man VR, République VR), has joined Oculus Studios alongside Twisted Pixel (Wilson’s Heart, Path of the Warrior) and Armature Studio (Resident Evil 4 VR).

In addition to the aforementioned announcements, Meta Connect 2022 also featured the reveal of the Meta Quest Pro, the first in a new line of high-end VR devices from Meta. The headset features high-resolution cameras to deliver full-color mixed reality experiences, eye and face tracking for more expressive avatars, and new Touch Pro controllers with improved tracking and haptics.
