Kwity Paye Suffers High Ankle Sprain

Date:

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye has suffered a high ankle sprain. The ankle injury will keep Paye out for around four to six weeks, depending on the severity. He was one of many players injured during the Colts 12-9 overtime win on Thursday Night Football.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Friday.

Paye was a first round draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Colts. He made the PFWA’s All-Rookie Team during his first NFL season, grabbing four sacks, 32 combined tackles and a forced fumble during 15 games in 2021.

So far this year, Paye has almost matched his 2021 sack total, racking up two in Week 1 and one in Week 4. He has the same injury Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is dealing with, but it is unclear whether he will have surgery to get back on the field immediately.
