Jailed dark web drug dealers earned more than $4.8 million in BTC from selling cocaine that was brought from South America as we can see more in our latest Bitcoin news.

The two jailed dark web drug dealers Jehanzeb Amar and Salahydin Warsame sold cocaine on the dark web and the police started investigating the dark web social media platforms for a year now. The UK court sentenced the two men who made about $4.87 million in BTC by selling cocaine from South America. The ringleader of the operation Jehanzeb Amar, sold cocaine from the UK, in Birmingham. They used two dark web social media sites to buy the drugs while the drugs came from Peru, Bolivia, and Columbia.

The undercover police busted the operation and unearthed heroin as well as thousands of tabs of LSD and cash. The two men aged 29, admitted to the charges of conspiring to supply cocaine, heroin, and LSD and both admitted to the acquisition of criminal property. Amar was sentenced to 13 years and six months in prison while Warsame received a shorter sentence of 10 years and six months.

Prosecutor Michael Harrison said that the undercover police were investigating the two dark web social media websites and said that last year, one undercover police officer clocked pictures of the drugs and discovered that one of the two sites had more than 1000 users. Amar was initially arrested after a warrant that led to his capture in Coventry which was later used to prepare drugs for future sale. Warasme was arrested in his vehicle and the police even found a kilo of cocaine with 250 grams of heroin in the car.
