Dr. Daniel Shiu will speak at the IQT Vancouver/Pacific Rim conference in June, bringing a rare and valuable blend of theoretical acumen and practical experience to his current role as Chief Cryptographer at Arqit.
With an extensive background that transitions from academia into the high-stakes national security and intelligence world, Dr. Shiu has spent over twenty years at GCHQ, the UK’s intelligence and security organization. During his tenure there, as the head of mathematics research, he significantly contributed to cryptographic design and quantum information processing. His achievements include establishing the cryptographic standards for the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and establishing the UK Quantum Technologies Programme.
