How Streaming Rights Can Potentially Drive Esports Betting

Due to the increasing popularity of competitive video games, investors are paying attention to the growing number of esports tournaments. With esports viewership also rising, it is essential to see how streaming rights can potentially impact esports betting.

NODWIN Gaming Streaming Rights

NODWIN Gaming’s BGMI Master Series Tournament is a mega event that went live on June 24, 2022. NODWIN Gaming, one of the world’s leading esports organizations, has partnered with India’s top game streaming and platform, Loco, and the android lock-screen platform, Glance, to provide a live stream of the event. These partnerships are geared toward transforming the perception of esports in India.

Since its inception, Loco has organized over 32 tournaments, and its viewership has increased steadily. The platform paves the way for the country’s mainstream interest in gaming and esports.

According to Ashwin Suresh, the founder of Loco, the partnership with NODWIN Gaming will allow the organization to continue its mission of bringing forth the best esports events in the country.

In April, the NODWIN Loco All-Stars tournament had the highest concurrent viewership among all esports tournaments on a game streaming platform in India. Loco is the most prominent game streaming platform in India; Loco will help NODWIN Gaming take the BGMI Master Series to the next level.

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series, held in 2022, is one of the biggest esports tournaments of the year. It will be held at the NODWIN Studios in Delhi from June 24 to July 17, and the finale will begin on July 13.

The winning team will get a prize of ₹2,500,000 out of the ₹1.5 Cr prize pool, and the Most Valuable Player will get a cash prize of ₹100,000. This event is a first-of-its-kind event that will be televised, and NODWIN Gaming ensures that viewers can access it across multiple platforms. This includes Star Sports 2 and Glance Live for other digital access.

Viewership Impact on Esports Betting

Through these partnerships, we want to amplify the biggest event in the esports calendar this year! Both these brands will give access to advertisers associated with the tournament an extended consumer base while letting us promote a 360-degree outreach to both the digital and linear television audience,” said Co-Founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, Akshat Rathee.

The absence of major sporting events due to the pandemic in 2020 significantly increased esports betting. The way people view video games has changed. Not only are games no longer considered just a hobby, but people are now passionate about esports as a massive industry.

While it still has a long way to go in catching up to traditional sports, esports has begun to show great promise by attracting even larger audiences. The rise in viewership of major events like the LEC 2022 Summer Split shows its promise and potential impact on esports betting.

Last season, the LCS and LEC playoffs finals were also among the most-watched esports events. The LCS and LEC Spring Finals peaked at over 416k and 817k viewers across Youtube and Twitch. The increasing number of people watching esports and the increased stakes will undoubtedly increase potential bettors and positively impact esports betting.

Why Is This Important

Many people think that esports is a strange phenomenon since it involves people spending a lot of money and time watching others play video games. However, the same people who attend the opening day of a sports team and admire athletes are the same ones who participate in esports.

Due to its accessibility, esports is considered unique because it allows people to live out their passion regardless of their preferences. Women, men, and other gender-specific individuals can participate in esports.

Unlike other forms of competitive sports, which are usually based on physical attributes, esports only requires a certain amount of skill and teamwork. This tends to attract viewers as even if you don’t play well, you can still enjoy the talents of others.

Competitive video games are also similar to traditional sports because they have various titles for different audiences. Many people participate in esports and can be drawn to multiple genres, including shooters, dungeon raiding, card collecting, farm simulation, and many more.

Esports titles vary, and it is vital for esports leagues and tournament organizers to have good broadcasting experiences and educate viewers and potential bettors. For instance, League of Legends, owned by Riot Games, features a best-of-three system. CS: GO, on the other hand, has 30 games and the first to win 16 matches takes home the prize.

Betting operators should create content around major events to educate their customers about the various factors that can affect the outcome. This strategy aims to build trust and make the bettors feel more confident in their decisions. A clear understanding of the various factors affecting the outcome can help them make an educated decision and improve their viewership experience.
