Satisfactory – out now on Xbox and PlayStation

A new era of industrial automation has dawned on the console world with the release of Satisfactory, and it’s one that comes with a serious (but wonderful) warning: you will lose countless hours to it.

Satisfactory, the conveyor-crazy, award-winning factory-building phenomenon from Coffee Stain Studios, has launched on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for Β£33.49.

After captivating PC fans since its 1.0 release last September, this massive, first-person sim is finally here to give console players the ultimate test in automation and efficiency.

From PC Phenomenon to Console Juggernaut

This is not just any PC port; it’s one of the most celebrated and beloved factory-builders of all time making its console debut.

After five years in Early Access, Satisfactory launched its 1.0 version on PC to universal acclaim. It boasts a staggering 91/100 Metacritic score, surpassed 180,000 concurrent players on Steam, and was even crowned β€˜PC Game of the Year’ at the 2024 Golden Joystick Awards.

We’ve had this one on our life-stealing list for a while. We first reported on its November release window back in August and knew then that it would be a game to undoubtedly steal your life this month. That day has finally arrived.

The FICSIT Mandate: Automate Everything

Your new career as an employee of FICSIT begins on the massive alien planet of MASSAGE-2(A-B)b. Your duty is simple: make good use of the planet’s valuable natural resources.

From a first-person perspective, you will build massive, multi-story factories across the land. The goal is to construct with gracious perfection (or build an intricate web of spaghetti) to supply all your needs. You’ll automate trucks and trains to reach your faraway outposts and handle liquids with complex pipe systems. It’s all about minimising manual labour!

The planet is yours to harvest. You have vehicles, jetpacks, jump pads, and more at your disposal to make exploration easier. You’ll venture on expeditions to search for new materials, but you’ll need to equip the proper safety gear – the local wildlife isn’t always thrilled to see you.

A Smooth Build for the Couch

This new console version, developed in collaboration with Fishlabs, isn’t a simple port; it’s a fully-fledged console experience.

The biggest new feature is console crossplay, allowing Pioneers on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 to build, automate, and explore together. The game has also been enhanced with official controller support for ultimate construction precision.

And you can tailor your experience with three performance presets:

  • Quality: 30 FPS
  • Balanced: 40 FPS
  • Performance: 60 FPS

Is Satisfactory on Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere?

For the many FICSIT recruits wondering about the service options, it is important to note that Satisfactory is not available on Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass at launch. This is a full premium purchase.

Furthermore, the game does not support Xbox Play Anywhere. This means your save data will not automatically transfer between your Xbox Series X|S console and the Windows PC version, and you will need to purchase the game separately for each platform if you wish to play on both.

  • Your Factory’s Blueprint

Here’s what you can expect from this new simulation masterpiece:

  • Open-world factory building on a massive 30kmΒ² alien planet.
  • First-person perspective for a unique, hands-on building experience.
  • Co-op multiplayer with console crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation.
  • Deep automation systems (conveyor belts, trucks, trains, pipes).
  • Exploration, light combat, and vehicles (jetpacks, jump pads, etc.).
  • Critically acclaimed β€œPC Game of the Year” winner.
  • Three new performance modes for console.

The assembly line is open, and FICSIT requires your service. If you’re a fan of deep, complex, and incredibly rewarding simulation games, Satisfactory is ready to become your new obsession on the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox Series X|S. Find it on PlayStation and PC too.

And find our review coming towards your eyes real soon.
