Football Manager is officially (and finally) returning with its 2026 edition FM 26. Developers Sports Interactive and SEGA are launching the game on multiple platforms. On mobile, it’s a Netflix exclusive just like its 2024 counterpart.
It marks the series’ big comeback after the cancellation of Football Manager 25. Also, Football Manager 26 includes the Premier League and an official FIFA license. Both are a result of the studio’s first-ever partnership with FIFA.
It’s been nearly two years since a new Football Manager release hit the market. After FM25 was delayed twice and eventually scrapped, the new edition was first announced on August 13th through a teaser video.
Football Manager’s legacy goes back to 1992 when the Collyer brothers launched the original under the name Championship Manager. In 2004, the game was rebranded as Football Manager. Since then, it’s been an annual tradition for the studio to drop a new edition.
So, what’s new in Football Manager 26?
Football Manager 26 introduces volumetric animations modelled after real-life matches. The matchday experience aims to feel closer to watching an actual broadcast. And with the new Premier League license, every club kit, badge, and player photo has been officially recreated.
Another major addition is women’s football. Thirteen women’s leagues across ten countries are now fully playable. They come with real structural and gameplay differences that mirror real-world football, such as shorter contract lengths and variations in transfer rules.
Managers can now design match-specific training priorities with feedback from the coaching staff. You can see detailed reports covering form, medical updates, and player morale.
Meanwhile, after two in-game years, managers can now propose their own affiliations rather than picking from a pre-set list. You can negotiate directly with clubs, request loans, or set up partnerships for your team’s growth.
Football Manager 26 Mobile is available exclusively to Netflix members. Check it out on the Google Play Store if you have a subscription.
