“First off — thank you everyone who signed up for the past two closed beta testing phases for versions 0.2.1 and 0.2.2!”

Anito Legends, a Filipino folklore-inspired play-to-earn game, announced that they are opening sign ups for the closed beta testing.

Beta testers will receive one Anito non-fungible token (NFT) on Mainnet once the game launches. However, they noted that they have a “supply cap of 300 NFT’s for this batch.”

“Because of the consistent feedback on Discord, the dev team has decided to keep the beta testing phase open indefinitely as we roll out new features every week. We feel that the engagement for the game mechanics are proving invaluable and it really shows our core strengths with a strong product and growing community from the grassroots,” the developers’ wrote.

Further, the developers noted that the whitelisting for the beta testing will happen in batches once a week.

“We push updates to the game every Friday so this is also more or less the time the whitelisting happens. We would like to also stress that the Anitos on Testnet are not the final ones. They are also separate from the beta rewards on launch,” they added.

The closed beta sign up page of the game can be accessed here.

What is Anito Legends?

Anito Legends, the first roguelike auto-battler being developed in the country, draws inspiration from Philippine folklore as players take control of a team of “Anitos” to conquer towers and earn rewards. There are currently four Anito classes available for launch; the unpredictable Kiwig, the strong Sarangay, the swift Tikbalang and the elusive Siyokoy.

The game will essentially have two modes – an adventure mode where players can earn rewards to level up and strengthen their Anitos, and a more competitive PVP mode where players can compete to earn more valuable rewards. The game also uses a dual token system with $LARO as the governance token and $GINTO for the utility token.

Moreover, the game also had a collaboration with award-winning horror writer, Yvette Tan in developing the lore of the game. (Read more:  Filipino Play-to-Earn Game Anito Legends Partners with Award-Winning Writer Yvette Tan)

Anito Legends also recently inked a partnership with Moneybees, a licensed-virtual asset service provider (VASP) in the Philippines, to give its players a way to exchange their in-game tokens for cash.
