Fantasy Football Players to Add Week 17

Date:

Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 17. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)

1. Zamir White, RB Las Vegas Raiders

Josh Jacobs has been out the last few weeks and Zamir White has produced in his place. In week 16 against the Chiefs, White had 22 carries for 145 yards. While he didn’t find the end zone or record any receiving stats, White’s production was great against a defense that is usually solid.

There is no word on whether Jacobs will be out this week. He had a quad injury and was sick in week 16. White should be picked up on the chance Jacobs misses another week. If Jacobs returns, White can still be added and kept as a handcuff to Jacobs. He is rostered in less than 11 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Chris Rodriguez, RB, Washington Commanders

Brian Robinson has missed the last few weeks with an injury. It is clear that the Commanders will use Chris Rodriguez as a goal line and early down running back. In week 16, Rodriguez had 10 carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns. He also had one catch for seven yards.

There is a chance Robinson will return in the next two weeks. If there is any doubt about his status, the Commanders should hold him out, as they have no chance at the playoffs. Rodriguez may be touchdown dependent, but could be started in a pinch. He is rostered in just 2.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Khalil Herbert, RB, Chicago Bears

The Bears have had several running backs produce because of the talent of their rotation and injuries. In week 16, Herbert answered the call against the Cardinals. He registered 20 carries for 112 yards and one touchdown. Herbert also had one catch for nine yards.

D’Onta Foreman missed the game against the Cardinals with an injury. As with other injured players, the Bears should hold him out if there is any cause for concern about his injury. That means Herbert can have a few good weeks before the end of the season. He is rostered in 48.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Justice Hill, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Hill has had an up-and-down fantasy season. He started getting carries after J.K. Dobbins went down along with Gus Edwards. Then Keaton Mitchell emerged. He is now injured, which has opened the door back up for Hill. He had 10 carries for 26 yards and three catches for 31 yards in week 16.

While he will still be splitting work with Gus Edwards, Hill has fantasy value for the last few weeks of the season. He will get work and the Ravens can support more than one running back on fantasy rosters. Hill maybe shouldn’t be started, but could be a good handcuff if Edwards gets hurt. He is rostered in 12.1 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Noah Brown, WR, Houston Texans

The Texans have had injury issues at the wide receiver position over the last few weeks. Noah Brown played well in week 15, but didn’t in week 16. He only registered three catches for 38 yards in week 16, but he is still worth adding.

In week 17, quarterback C.J. Stroud will likely return from concussion protocol. He immediately can make Brown more productive. The Texans will still be missing Tank Dell, although Nico Collins will return. Brown can still have a good end of the season for the Texans. He is rostered in 42.3 percent completion.
