f0rest to stand in for ex-Finest at Swedish LAN

Date:

The 34-year-old will temporarily return to competition at a local offline event.

Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg will compete at the Svenska Cupen 2022 with ex-Finest, the Swede announced on a recent stream. The veteran rifler will replace Rasmus “kreaz” Johansson in the squad as the 24-year-old has not played with the lineup since Finest closed its esports operations earlier in October.

The ex-Ninjas in Pyjamas and Dignitas player is currently without a team for the first time in his 20-year-long career following his departure from the latter organization in June.

f0rest will compete at the upcoming Svenska Cupen with ex-Finest

f0rest has not remained inactive since being sidelined from Dignitas. The Swede recently stood-in for fnatic at the Pinnacle Cup Championship and helped the European squad claim a narrow win against Heroic in the group stages.

Most recently he also appeared at the Kinguin Legends 2022 tournament with NEO’s Team, finishing in third place alongside Swedish legends Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer and Adam “friberg” Friberg.

The Svenska Cupen 2022 is a $46,900 tournament set to take place in the Space Arena in Stockholm, Sweden between October 14-16. The event will host six Swedish Majority lineups, two of which qualified from the online component of the Cup while the rest received invites directly to the playoffs.

Ninjas in Pyjamas will be the most recognizable name on the list of teams attending as the Swedish core starts its journey at the event directly from the semi-finals. ex-Finest will also be waiting in the second round of playoffs while EYEBALLERS with Robin “flusha” Rönnquist and Jesper “JW” Wecksell will begin their campaign in the quarter-finals.

Lilmix are the second team to start in the first round of the knockout stage, joined by PROSPECTS and Kappa Bar, the two teams that made it through the online portion of the tournament.

The LAN finals will be played in a single-elimination format with best-of-three matches across the board and a third-place decider.

ex-Finest will compete with the following lineup:

Estonia Kristjan “shokz” Jakobson
Poland Olek “hades” Miskiewicz
Sweden Simon “twist” Eliasson
Sweden Niclas “PlesseN” Plessen
Sweden Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg (stand-in)

Poland Jędrzej “Bogdan” Rokita (coach)
