ESA Launches New Call for Integration of Space Technologies with the Metaverse

In recent years, the Metaverse has emerged as a rich landscape for innovation across various domains, ranging from user experience in marketing to digital representations of real-world objects and infrastructures, commonly referred to as digital twins.

In this context, the ‘Space for Metaverse’ initiative is designed to support projects that harness the exceptional capabilities of space technologies—such as satellite Earth observation, satellite communications, and global navigation systems—to create increasingly immersive, dynamic, and real-world-connected virtual environments. The aim is to develop services that enhance decision-making processes, specialist training, supply chain management, virtual tourism, and much more.
