DeFi Platform Umee Raises Additional $32M with Coinlist Token Sale

DeFi Platform Umee Raises additional $32M with Coinlist Token Sale

Cross-chain DeFi startup Umee records the largest number of registrants in Coinlist’s history after selling $32 million worth of UMEE tokens to its participants. Over 922,000 CoinList accounts registered for the UMME token sale with final contributions from around 63,000 accounts. Largest No. of Registrants in CoinList’s History After raising $6.3 million from top industry players like Polychain, Coinbase, Alameda Research, CMS Holdings, and others in a seed round, Umee recently bought an additional sale of $32 million through its native token. The sale was conducted through CoinList, a platform that enables token sales before they appear on exchanges. What’s interesting is that the offering resulted in the largest number of registrants in the history of CoinList’s sales to 900,000 accounts and selling out in an hour. In the end, 64,000 token holders were added to the Umee blockchain as a result of the sale. “Umee makes waves and this may be one of our biggest yet! We are proud to announce that Umee has recorded the highest number of registrants in the history of CoinList!,” the announcement post read. The $32 million raise is reportedly the fifth largest public raise on CoinList. In contrast, BitDAO (BIT) raised over $43 million, GuildFi (GF) over $139 million. CEO Brent Xu said the team plans to use the newly raised funds to expand its engineering team and expand its legal compliance resources. In addition, it will also be utilized towards underlying infrastructure and grow and develop its global community through additional marketing. To accelerate interoperability of its cross-chain hub, Umee will build teams of 6-8 engineers for every blockchain network by the end of next year.  The team is also planning its mainnet launch for mid-February 2022. A beta webapp will be available in the coming days.
