Craig Kimbrel Becomes Eighth Player With 400 Saves

On Friday night, Phillies’ pitcher Craig Kimbrel notched his 400th save against the Atlanta Braves. He became the eighth pitcher in MLB history to reach the 400-save milestone.

Kimbrel joins Mariano Rivera, Trevor Hoffman, Lee Smith, Francisco Rodriguez, John Franco, Billy Wagner and Kenley Jensen in the 400-save club. Jensen is the only other active player on the list.

In his career, Kimbrel has played 14 seasons with the Braves, Padres, Red Sox, Cubs, White Sox, Dodgers and Phillies. He has a career ERA of 2.40. Kimbrel was the Rookie of the Year in 2010 and is an eight-time All-Star, with the most recent appearance being in 2021. In 2018 he won a World Series with the Boston Red Sox.
