College Football Playoff Bracketology November 13

Date:

Each week teams will be fighting for position in an effort to make the College Football Playoff. The teams will be ranked each week, but what matters most is who they have played and beaten already on the field. Preseason rankings will not be taken into consideration here. Here is College Football Playoff Bracketology November 13.

CFP Four

1. Georgia Bulldogs (10-0)

Georgia defeated Mississippi State pretty easily to retain their number one ranking. They have some good wins over Tennessee and Oregon this season. Their case to make the CFP may even be able to sustain a loss over the last few games.

This week: at Kentucky Wildcats (6-4)

2. Ohio State Buckeyes (10-0)

The Buckeyes had no issues with Indiana, extending their record to 10-0. They have solid wins over Penn State and Notre Dame, but they have to make sure to not look ahead to the last week of the season.

This week: at Maryland Terrapins (6-4)

3. Michigan Wolverines (10-0)

Defeating Nebraska doesn’t do much to change Michigan’s ranking, but they stayed undefeated with the win. They don’t have a ton of marquee wins, but did notch a victory over Penn State.

This week: vs. Illinois Fighting Illini (7-3)

4. TCU Horned Frogs (10-0)

TCU usually scores a lot of points and has to come from behind, but neither of those things were true against Texas. They won 17-10, which locked up their spot in the Big 12 Championship Game. With how things are looking, winning out is most likely a necessity for the Horned Frogs to make the CFP.

This week: at Baylor Bears (6-4)

First Four Out

5. Tennessee Volunteers (9-1)

After losing to Georgia, Tennesse pulled away from Missouri in the second half to win 66-24. The loss to Georgia definitely has the Volunteers waiting on other results to get back into the top four, but they should be able to win their remaining two games to put themselves in a good position.

This week: at South Carolina Gamecocks (6-4)

6. LSU Tigers (8-2)

It wasn’t a pretty game at Arkansas, but LSU won and in the process of the day clinched the SEC West in Brian Kelly’s first season as head coach. They need to win out to make the CFP and maybe get a little help along the way too. The rest of the regular season shouldn’t pose too many issues for the Tigers.

This week: vs. UAB Blazers (5-5)

7. USC Trojans (9-1)

USC blew out Colorado on Friday to stay alive in the CFP race. They do not have a win over a team ranked in the top 25 by the committee as of last week, so they have to win out with some tough games left.

This week: at UCLA Bruins (8-2)

8. Alabama Crimson Tide (8-2)

Although they are likely out of the CFP picture, the Crimson Tide defeated Ole Miss to end their chances of making the playoff. The Crimson Tide will be in a New Year’s Six Bowl if they win out.

This week: vs. Austin Peay Governers (7-3)

Next Four Out

9. Clemson Tigers (9-1)

Clemson bounced back from their loss to Notre Dame with a win over Louisville. The Tigers will need some help to make the CFP, but they are locked in to play in the ACC Championship.

This week: vs. Miami Hurricanes (5-5)

10. North Carolina Tar Heels (9-1)

North Carolina won a crazy game against Wake Forest to keep their CFP hopes alive. Like Clemson, their only loss was to Notre Dame and they need some help to make it to the playoff. They play the Tigers in the ACC Championship in a few weeks.

This week: vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (4-6)

11. Oregon Ducks (8-2)

Oregon dropped a tough one to one of their rivals, Washington. The loss takes them out of the CFP picture, but they can still win the Pac-12. Dropping five spots feels like what the committee will do with the Ducks with the loss being a close one.

This week: vs. Utah Utes (8-2)

12. Utah Utes (8-2)
Utah has been taking care of business the last few weeks. They beat Stanford by 35 to go 8-2 on the season. The Utes are out of the CFP race, but can win the Pac-12 for the second-straight season.

This week: at Oregon Ducks (8-2)
